Windsurf Clinic Creetion: Sportsmanship and Team Spirit at the Oolderplas

In August 2024, colleagues from Creetion participated in a windsurf clinic at the Windsurfcenter on the Oolderplas in Roermond. It was a fantastic day filled with fun, sporty challenges, and valuable teamwork, as we learned new skills both on land and on the water.

Under the guidance of John, an experienced watersports instructor with a great sense of humor, the morning started with an introduction on land. We learned the basics of windsurfing: what equipment is needed, how to balance and steer the board, and perhaps most importantly, how to make the most of the wind. After this explanation and a few exercises, it was time to hit the water. While the first attempts were a bit wobbly, John’s excellent instructions, our perseverance, and the encouragement of colleagues helped everyone make progress. The first meters and turns were successfully achieved.

After an intense morning, we enjoyed a catered lunch together, reflecting on funny moments and personal achievements. The day concluded with additional theory about general rules and safety on the water, ensuring we’re ready for future windsurfing adventures.

The clinic not only offered a unique opportunity to explore a new sport but also strengthened our team spirit. The combination of learning, helping each other, persevering, and having fun was a perfect reflection of Creetion’s collaboration: challenging, focused on growth, and always with an eye for connection and enjoyment.
