Creetion was one of the main sponsors of the oldest tennis tournament in the Netherlands this summer. Thanks in part to Creetion, the 106th edition of the Sphaerinda Open Tournament was able to take place this year.
This tournament is organized by nine Utrecht students from the student sports association U.S.S.V. Sphaerinda. U.S.S.V. Sphaerinda is the only student sports association that organizes a National Ranking Tournament. In the National Ranking, the top players from the Netherlands were present in both the men’s and women’s categories. There were also international participants, some of whom were even ranked on the ATP and WTA world rankings. Additionally, over 250 players participated with great enthusiasm and enjoyment in the 19 other general and top-level categories our tournament offers.
Besides the fact that the tournament focuses on high-level tennis, social interaction also plays a significant role every year. In addition to the participating students, many student spectators are also present. Various activities are organized during the tournament week to make the event as vibrant as possible for all attendees. Examples include a barbecue with a large number of visitors and themed evenings. Furthermore, 30 students camp on the grounds in tents, staying 24/7, contributing to a unique student atmosphere.
